These days everything feels focused on algorithms, reels, trends and constantly trying to keep up. But honestly, I’d rather spend my time creating, living life and being present with my family.💕
I think that’s part of why I’ve always loved dreadlocks too.
To me, dreads have never been about perfection or fitting into trends. They’re about freedom, individuality, simplicity and living a little more authentically.

The “back layer triangle” look 😂
There’s probably a proper hair term for it, but this is what I mean when I talk about it.
That beautiful natural layering where most of the length sits through the middle and softly tapers out toward the sides and ends 💕
I especially love creating this look with dread extensions because I have more control over the final shape and layering. It gives such a natural flow look 🌻

The dread nod is a real thing and nobody can convince me otherwise 😂
You know when you walk past another dread head and there’s just this silent little nod of acknowledgment like:
“Yep… I see you. Respect.” 🤝
It’s like being part of a weird little unspoken club.
The funny part is I don’t even have dreads anymore and I STILL catch myself doing the dread nod to random people with locs 💕 Old habits die hard apparently.
Please tell me I’m not the only one hahaha.

When researching a loctician, really look at their work.
Their photos ARE their style, their strengths, their vision and the kind of locs they create consistently ✨
Not every loctician does the same thing, and that’s okay. Some love clean and polished, some love wild and organic. Some specialise in thick locs, some in neat grids, crochet work, instant locs or freeform.
Some do bold colours, some focus on natural tones. Some work with synthetic extensions, some only work with natural hair. Some love shorter loc styles, while others specialise in long mature locs.
If you’re wanting a certain look, find the artist already creating that look instead of asking someone to work completely outside their style.
You’ll always get the best results when you choose a loctician whose work already aligns with your vision 🌻

But in the best way possible — I’ve been flat out creating beautiful dreads, soaking up sunshine with beachside clients, and enjoying the cozy salon vibes when the weather decides to cry. Late-night jobs, early mornings… my hands (and heart) have been full. 💙
